Cape Sounion

Afternoon drive along the scenic coastal road through the wonderful beach resort areas of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni and Varkiza, arriving at the southeastern most point of Attica, Cape Sounion. There the white marble pillars of the Temple of Poseidon still stand. This is a photographers delight, so bring your camera!
Early evening return to hotel.

Ancient Corinth (half day tour)

Drive to Corinth Canal which connects the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea (short stop). Visit the Ancient town of Corinth where St. Paul lived and preached for two years. Agora (market place) and Apollo’s Temple (6th century B.C.) clearly show how rich and important Corinth was in Ancient Times. A short stop at the Site of the Ancient Port of Cehries, where St. Paul disembarked, will conclude the visit. Return to Athens in time for Lunch.

Your evening begins with a short panoramic drive through the City Center and at the slope of the sacred hill you will be able to see, admire and photo the illuminated Acropolis. Drive along the scenic coastal roads of the Saronic Gulf to Corinth canal (stop). Proceed to Mycenae, visit the ruins, including the Lion’s Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon and the Palace. Depart for Nafplio through Argolis. After lunch, leave for Epidaurus where you will visit the famous Theatre known for its superior acoustics. Return to Athens in the evening. (L)

Poros - Hydra - Aegina (one day cruise)

Transfer by motorcoach from Athens to Piraeus and embark on the cruise ship. Sail for the island of HYDRA. In Hydra you have time at leisure for strolling, shopping or swimming. In the early afternoon sail for the island of AEGINA to the island of POROS. Lunch is served after sailing. Short visit of Poros. Upon arrival in Aegina you can either join the excursion to the Temple of Aphaia (optional) or walk around the main town. Finally, re-embark for the sail back to Piraeus. Arrival and transfer to Athens.

Delphi (two days tour)

Day 1. Drive through the fertile plain of Beotia, crossing the towns of Thebes, Levadia and Arachova arrive in Delphi, the center of the Ancient World. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the Museum containing such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer. Afternoon free. Dinner. Overnight.
Day 2. The whole morning is free for you to see more of the ragged grandeur of Delphi and take photographs to remind you of its beauty. Return to Athens by the same route. |

Day 2. Morning free. Depart around 12:30 for Mycenae and visit the Archaeological Site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Then depart for Olympia through Central Peloponnese and the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis. Overnight in Olympia, the cradle of the Olympic Games. (D)
Day 3. In the morning visit the Archaeological Site with the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Then drive on through the plains of Ilia and Achaia until the magnificent bridge which is crossing the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion. Pass by the picturesque towns of Nafpactos (Lepanto) and Itea, arrive in Delphi. Overnight. (D)
Day 4. In the morning visit the Archaeological Site and the Museum. Depart for Kalambaka, a small town stated at the foot of the astonishing complex of Meteora, gigantic rocks. Overnight. (D) |
Day 5. Visit Meteora, among striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks which seem to be suspended in mid-air, stand ageless Monasteries, where you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae (short stop to see across the road the Leonida's Monument). Arrive in Athens early in the evening.
